Title / Description

*Plan Disclaimer*
| | Besides designing and installing my own work, I also provide landscape design services for other landscape contractors and homeowners. Although my plans are drawn to scale and can be installed by qualified design/build contractors they are ultimately “conceptual” drawings that are subject to interpretation. This is done intentionally to allow for field changes, which is a natural part of the design/build process. |

*Design Agreement*
|
*Plant Guarantee*
| | Plant guarantees are a double edged sword for the design/build contractor. We want our clients to be assured that their plantings will survive though one entire growing season which is not unreasonable. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if the plants were properly cared for and try to explain to a client that the plant died because of a watering issue - especially if you or your sub-contractor installed the irrigation system. |
|
*Landscape Questionnaire and Survey*
| | A landscape questionnaire is a great way to involve a potential client in the design/build process and begin to create a meaningful dialogue. It shows your professionalism and your interest in them and their project. For newer designers and sales people it takes some of the fear away from your initial meeting and helps to make sure that you didn’t miss anything. For those of you that have been doing this a bit longer, it is a reminder that the focus should always be on the client and their goals. |
|
*FAQ Sample*
| | Here’s something for your website or to give to customers after they have signed a contract. It’s a “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ’s) page. Although this form does answer typical questions that your clients may ask, it really does so much more. |
|
*Design Proposal Sample*
| | When I first started providing design services, I spent a lot of time meeting with homeowners and landscape contractors just to try to sell design services. This was very time consuming and not very productive. Like any designer my time was best spent at the drafting board (yes I’m old school). I needed to come up with a system that allowed me and the contractors I worked for to provide a quote to the client with me actually being there. Once the design contract was signed, the deposit and survey provided I could do my thing. |
|
*New Customer Information Sheet*
| | One of the most important, yet frequently overlooked things that your company must do is obtain the correct information when a potential client calls. |
|
*Site Visit Proposal*
| | Sometimes when you go out on an appointment it winds up being a potentially small project or a potentially annoying customer. You probably don’t want to “blow off” either situation but you certainly want to minimize the amount of time you spend on these appointments. |
