When is a resume' not a resume'? When it's a "Visual CV"

A good friend of mine, Chris Heiler, introduced me to this website and I want to share it with all of you. It's called “Visual CV” and the web address is http://www.visualcv.com/. As you will see it is a great tool for both students and professionals alike.

Essentially what it allows you to do is take your CV, (curriculum vitae which is the Latin word for resume') and turn it into an active presentation tool that is guaranteed to impress any potential client or future employer .

But that's just the beginning!

For recent graduates and those seeking employment opportunities, instead of mailing or emailing a typical, boring resume to a potential employer, Visual CV lets you insert pictures, videos and drawings, while still allowing plenty of room for your traditional employment and educational history. Now, instead of having a “static” document, like all of the other job seekers, your resume is “alive”, exciting and highly interactive. In addition to this, you can include hyperlinks to your website, linked in, facebook and twitter accounts.

For those of you that are already in business, Visual CV can not only act as your virtual business resume, but you can make as many CV's as you want, tailoring the information to a specific audience, product or service. For example, why not create a “project profile” for the design/build installation that you just completed or for that award winning project? You can show before and afters photos, include a description of the work that you performed and even have testimonials from the clients themselves - which can be text or video (just make sure you get their permission first).

Now imagine the buzz you'll create when you send that CV out to both your existing and perspective clients. I guarantee that this will get the phone ringing.

Or maybe you want to introduce a new employee to your customers and let them know about their background and experience and what unique benefits they can provide. How about marketing a new product or service that you are currently offering along with photos and hyperlinks to supporting information? The opportunities are limitless.

Visual CV is just a fantastic tool whether you have a website or not. Here is the link to mine.

”Remember, if you find this information helpful tell your fellow landscape contractors. If you don't, please tell us."

Thanks!
